One-day workshop "The good employer"

HRM & Employment law for contemporary management – for (HR) managers & entrepreneurs – with focus on your daily practice.

#PeopleBeforeSystem

Real change in an organization only occurs when you put people first and not the system. This workshop has been developed for everyone who works in value-driven organizations that pursue new forms of organizing and leadership. Professional freedom and the human dimension linked to labour law regulations and case law in the Netherlands.

In the Good Employer workshop you not only learn about yourself, your organization and the legal rules, but you also work on solutions for the challenges you face.

The workshop starts with an exploration of your personal values and ambitions in relation to those of your organization. This increases your insight into how you relate to the applicable legal frameworks and personnel policy and provides guidance for the practical implementation of your own leadership role as an (HR) manager or entrepreneur.

Because we work with a maximum of 6 participants, you also learn from each other’s experiences, expertise and solutions.

As an included service, we offer each individual participant of any first of our workshops a one hour personal intake & advice (in person or online).

Topics

In the first part of the workshop we focus on three important HR themes that we see often make up three quarters of the daily practice of personnel management: performance and behaviour issues, illness and reintegration and labour conflicts. What is the employment law basis for rules & case law?

We also look at how the HR structures, instruments and practices in your organization align with this and how they fit with the desire for more contemporary management and new leadership.

In the second part of the workshop, we will work together to resolve the cases the participants bring to the table. In addition, the trainer will provide relevant practical cases and dilemmas. Due to the small group, there is sufficient room and attention for your questions and the situation in your organization. You learn the most from the discussion of your own issues and those of others, which means that this results-oriented approach is also a good method for mastering or refreshing the employment law basis of these subjects.

Results

At the end of the day you will have:

  • up-to-date knowledge of employment law;
  • tools for solving the practical cases you brought to the table ;
  • sound legal advice from a Dutch lawyer for your issue;
  • more knowledge of the current employment law regulations and case law regarding the daily practice of personnel management;
  • a firmer basis for your role as a critical discussion partner for your HR & management colleagues or your legal advisor;
  • increased awareness of how you can put your own values and ambitions and those of your organization first.

Participants receive a certificate of achievement and a syllabus with practical step-by-step plans and checklists, in addition to background information on the topics discussed.

For whom

The workshop is well suited for (HR) managers and/or entrepreneurs who focus on contemporary management, new leadership and new forms of organizing.

Prior to the workshop, we will ask in a telephone intake interview about your prior knowledge in the field of employment law, learning wishes, your personal values, ambitions and dilemmas and the case(s) you want to bring in.

We also ask about matters such as a collective labour agreement, HR handbook / personnel manual, standard contracts of your organization, etc. This allows us to pay ample attention in the workshop to what is important for your field of work.

Workshop location

The workshops are held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Baarn, Villa Mollerus (Mollerusstraat 1), a 10 min. walk from Baarn train station, circa 30 min. from Amsterdam and Utrecht). Parking is free at the location. The workshops always include tea/coffee and an extensive lunch, in the same building.

‘On location’ workshops are hybrid, i.e. they allow for online participation as well, which works well given the fact that we work in small groups (maximum number of 6 participants). The prices for the on-site and online workshops are the same.

All workshops are also available in the form of a one-on-one workshop or on an in company basis, with different prices.
